To activate new fiscal years click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Fiscal Years (Activation/Year End Closing)"
In the screen on the right, under label "Fiscal Year Activation" select the fiscal year available for activation and then press on the "Activate" button Note: Only the next fiscal year (the year after the current fiscal year) will be available for activation |

To activate new fiscal years click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Fiscal Years (Activation/Year End Closing)"
In the screen on the right, under label "Year End Balances Carry Forward" select the fiscal year available for balance carry forward and then press on the "Run" button Notes: - Before running this function, please make sure that all entries of the previous fiscal year are already posted. However, you can still re-run this function if the previous fiscal year had to be re-opened to enter any more related entries. - This function will move the closing balances of the last fiscal year (as per all entries made till the last day of that fiscal year) to the new fiscal year as opening balances. It will also close the Profit/Loss of the last fiscal year into the Retained Earnings account of the new fiscal year. |
To activate new fiscal years click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Fiscal Years (Activation/Year End Closing)"
Look for the grid in the screen on the right and in the row that has the year you would like to lock/unlock press on "Lock/Unlock" button. The status column indicates whether the fiscal years are locked or unlocked. Note: Locking a fiscal year will prevent any entries to be posted to that year. The user will still be able to run all reports and analysis related to that fiscal year data. |
To create a new GL account you can either:
Click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Accounts" then "Chart of Accounts" then on the screen on the right click on the "New" button or Use the short from the Home screen (or the form toolbar) and click on the "To Do" button then "Create New" then "Account" Please follow the steps bellow: 1- Select from the account type to be created from the list at the top of the screen (Balance Sheet or Profit & Loss) 2- Enter Account Name, Description, the Line Type (Either Account or Group of accounts), the Parent to which this account/group belongs 3- Press on the "Save" button Note: Account ID, Category, Profile will be automatically populated by ETAR |

To edit an account click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Accounts" then "Chart of Accounts"
Then follow the steps bellow: 1- Select from the account type to be edited from the list at the top of the screen (Balance Sheet or Profit & Loss) 2- From the list of accounts on the right, select the account/group that you want to edit 3- Press on the "Edit" button on the light gray toolbar below the account details 4- Enter the changes you want to make (Line Type and Parent fields can't be changed) 5- Press on the "Save" button Note: Only Account/Group with profile "User" can be edited. Accounts and Groups with profile "System" can not be edited |

To delete an account click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Accounts" then "Chart of Accounts"
Then follow the steps bellow: 1- Select from the account type to be deleted from the list at the top of the screen (Balance Sheet or Profit & Loss) 2- From the list of accounts on the right, select the account/group that you want to delete 3- Press on the "Delete" button on the light gray toolbar below the account details Note: Only Account/Group with profile "User" can be deleted. Accounts and Groups with profile "System" can not be deleted |

To move an account within the hierarchy click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Accounts" then "Chart of Accounts"
Then follow the steps bellow: 1- Select from the account type to be rearranged from the list at the top of the screen (Balance Sheet or Profit & Loss) 2- From the list of accounts on the right, select the account/group that you want to move up or down the hierarchy 3- Press on the blue Up or Down Arrows on the left side account list to move the account/group up or down the hierarchy Note: Accounts can be moved up or down within their parent range only. No accounts can be moved to another parent or group of accounts |

To export the list of accounts to excel click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Accounts" then "Chart of Accounts"
Then follow the steps bellow: 1- Select from the account type to be exported from the list at the top of the screen (Balance Sheet or Profit & Loss) 2- Press on the "Export to Excel" button below the accounts list |

To create a new customer account you can either:
Click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Accounts" then "Customers" then on the screen on the right click on the "New" button or Use the short from the Home screen (or the form toolbar) and click on the "To Do" button then "Create New" then "Customer" Please follow the steps bellow: 1- Enter Account Name, Description, the Line Type (Either Account or Group of accounts), Customer Group, Customer ID and the rest of the details 2- Press on the "Save" button Note: Account ID, Category, Profile will be automatically populated by ETAR |

Then follow the steps bellow: 1- From the list of accounts on the right, select the account/group that you want to edit 2- Press on the "Edit" button on the light gray toolbar below the account details 3- Enter the changes you want to make (Line Type and Parent fields can't be changed) 4- Press on the "Save" button |
To backup data click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Backup/Restore"
Under label "Backup" select the location where you want to backup your data by pressing on the "Browse" button Then press on the "Backup" button A database file will be saved in the selected location |
To restore data click on buttons: "Control" (from either the Home screen or the Forms toolbar) then "Tools" then "Backup/Restore"
Under label "Restore" select the location from which you want to restore your data by pressing on the "Browse" button and looking for ETAR database file Then press on the "Restore" button Note: The Restore function will only work if you have previously ran a backup on your data from ETAR using the Backup function and produced a database file |
